The city of Milwaukee is planning to expand the streetcar route in time for the 2020 Democratic National Convention taking place at the Wisconsin Center District. The route would extend south to Walker’s Point and north to Bronzeville, which would serve the Fiserv Forum. The project is expected to cost $20 million and be completed by summer of next year. Providing free streetcar service was part of the agreement the city contracted with the Democratic National Convention.
