LinkedIn, a digital social platform owned by Microsoft, aims to connect business professionals and it is expanding its reach with event planning functionality to further its goal of connecting people and facilitating networking, according to an article in GeekWire.
The new feature, which is still under development, is going to permit users to organize gatherings and invite professionals to meet in real life. Because the feature is still under development, however, users cannot directly book venues, offer ticketing or publicize events beyond their organic reach yet, according to TechCrunch.
The platform, which boasts approximately 650 million members, is going to debut the new functionality in English-speaking countries first, then extend it to more countries later.
