The Joint Meetings Industry Council has created a roadmap for organizations looking for a path to move forward with and justify the implementation of corporate meetings and events. In its “Global Manifesto,” the JMIC provides messaging for industry stakeholders to convey to governments the critical role of business events in economic and social recovery following COVID-19, with 15 ways they create a strategic advantage in renewal.

In coordination with the Manifesto, JMIC has posted videos of a two-part webinar produced with The Iceberg, featuring more than 24 contributors from the events industry and Prof. Greg Clark, urbanist and special advisor on cities and new industries.

In the Manifesto, the organization offers a series of arguments that meeting planners should use as strategic tools for “recovery, transition and renewal,” but adds that the reopening of the industry can only be achieved if accompanied by solid evidence that it can be done safely.
