A survey by ECA International recently ranked New York City as the most expensive city in the world for business travelers, estimating the daily travel rate at $799 due primarily to high hotel rates. Other US cities making the list included Washington D.C. ($621), San Francisco ($581) and Los Angeles ($578).

ECA’s ranking looks at average hotel prices for a four-star hotel. Other factors taken into consideration include transport, taxis and meals.

ECA’s 10 most expensive locations for business travel:
