The 2020 Democratic Convention originally scheduled for July 13-17 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee has been rescheduled for the week of August 17 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Since last week, the percentage of destinations reporting coronavirus-related postponements and/or cancellations of conferences, meetings or events surged from under 40% to almost 100%.

Two of Marcus Hotels & Resorts’ downtown Milwaukee properties, as well as one in Lake Geneva, join the growing list of hotel closures across the state.

Planners are fielding phone calls and emails from clients calling off contracts, many of which aren’t ready to commit to new contract terms or dates.
